In Scotland orthodontic treatment for children and teenagers is still widely available on the NHS. The patient’s eligibility for NHS treatment is based on the severity of the presenting malocclusion as seen by the orthodontist at the initial consultation.
Private treatment is offered to those children who do not qualify for NHS treatment and those who would like more flexibility in their treatment. Treatment can start immediately and you can choose your appliance including cosmetic appliances.
